Blocking apps

How to block an app on your child’s iPhone

To pause access to a particular game or app, select it for control and apply a block. Use a schedule if it should be unavailable only at certain times.

How it works in real life

One app, one rule

You want to pause a game during homework. Select that game rather than blocking every app in the same way. After saving, check on the child’s iPhone that the game is unavailable.

How it works

How it works in real life

  1. 01

    Select the right device

Open the child’s profile in the parent’s app. If the child has several devices, check their names before changing a rule.

  2. 02

    Add the app to control

Select it in Apps. If iOS cannot send a full app list automatically, follow KidexGo’s instructions to select apps on the child’s phone.

  3. 03

Apply the block and test it

Set the app block, check synchronization and try opening the app on the child’s phone. Saving a rule on the parent’s phone alone does not confirm it was applied.

The block has not arrived. What should I check?

First check internet access on the child’s phone and the last synchronization time. Then check that the device belongs to the right child profile and that the required Apple permissions are still active.

An app missing from the control list should not be assumed to be restricted. Add it using the supported method. For a support request, include the phone model, iOS version, app name and time of your test.

Keep contact available and check similar services

Before applying a broad block, decide how the child will contact you. Test the required phone functions on the child’s device.

An app block applies to the selected app. It does not automatically imply that its website, another browser or a similar service is blocked. Those are separate control scopes.

Good to know

KidexGo works with iOS mechanisms — it does not promise access Apple does not provide.

The available control depends on the iOS version and the child account setup. KidexGo uses official Apple mechanisms and does not read private messages or browse photos.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need a time limit to block an app?

Not always. KidexGo can control a selected app with a block without a permanent daily limit.

Does blocking delete app data?

No. A block restricts access; it is not an uninstall or a deletion of saved data.

Why can the app still open after saving?

Check synchronization, internet access, the correct profile and Apple permissions. Also check that the app was actually selected for control.
